Outer Space is a selection of paintings and drawings that imagine extraterrestrial exploration as promised by groups from Virgin Galactic to XCOR Aerospace to Mars One. Akin to the earlier fanciful images of the Americas made by 16thc Europeans, they are also loaded with localized desires, concerns and projections. The work here comes from three series completed in 2013-2020: Outer Space, Terraforming, Searching for Water on Mars.
